Fellow Monster Riders

I have Started a group on Facebook - www.facebook.com/groups/sydneymonsterriders/
Please feel free to join.
Its just a friendly place to chat about our monsters, Post Photo's of your rides and riding holidays and share info about events and rides in Sydney.
Im not trying to take anyone away from this great forum its just another avenue for lovers of Ducati Monsters in Sydney to chat and share information.
As a new Monster owner i found very few places for Sydney owners to Chat or organise rides.
Ducati Owners Club NSW also posts info about upcoming events as well.
There are 3 events up already.
I cleared this post with admin already and they said it was cool to share the page.

See you on the Rd  waytogo

  Hi Ronnie.
Was a happy time not so long ago when 15 or 20 Monster riders would regularly turnout for rides organized thru ozmonsters. Jenolan Caves,Putty Rd,Kangaroo Valley or further afield, Snowy Mountains, Oxley Hwy , also weekend coffee rides, thursday social nights  etc etc.  Sadly not happening much these days and not really sure why  Huh?  times change people move on I guess  Huh?.  Anyway if your Facebook group takes off maybe you could also post up here ride details ?               cheers

You could always try and organise something   cheeky

We were actually thinking of trying to organise something. That something may only be seeing if they will still be doing pizza at Mount White ... before daylight savings ends.

There is a fair bit of truth in that ... but I think that time when 4 riders received some unwanted attention on the Old Road took the wind out of our sails as well. Considering the circumstances it was rather discouraging.

There's a Few events up already on the Facebook page. Most of the larger events are shared between DOCSNSW and Sydney Ducati Club so there is always going to be a good turnout. Once the member base has increased i will or any member can create events for the Monster Riders.

One upcoming event will be the Barry Sheene Festival for 23rd March. Feel free to join the group and join in on the event.

Is there any way to view the page without having a Facebook account?

I am not a fan of facebook and not a member but any tool that can get a social outing happening again is welcome.
Things have been very quiet here, I attempted to get a ride happening some months ago and recieved ZERO interest so pulled the thread.
If it is as Betty said anything too do with the four idiots from our fold chased and booked on the Old road  bang head

Facebook or any of it's other names have taken over many forums.
It is an easy to use interface for any smartphone and yes there are some who don't enjoy the use of it but the many usually do.

I know that I am a member of two FB groups one Ducati based and one Adv based and they work well.

As to organizing rides well yes as people now know my Monster is in the hands of a new owner but a couple of years before that I lost the want to ride on the tar only. My riding habits changed but that shouldn't have stopped anyone else from continuing the excellent community we have.
As said by Betty and Two dogs some rides have been posted but for the most part many seem to have fallen off into their own smaller friendship groups and rides don't get posted as often.

After Goldie and Mmick I kind of became the next most active member and things rolled on for a few years but just because I might not own a Monster or a Ducati at the moment that doesn't mean any of the rest of you can continue the community rolling along.
True with the shananigans of Mr Plod up the Old Road booking 4 riders at once and the targeting of bike riders in that area for sometime after that there was some shine taken off riding. But I have to say there are more roads than just OPC as we all well know.

So if the FB page can feed to here and the vice versa then it's a win for all. Just as long as the FB page doesn't replace here.
Come to think of it isn't there an FB page started by Betty and Jukie that is an Ozmonsters Group?

To finish off my afternoon of philosophy, I officially pass the chief instigator of shananigans to whoever wishes to carry on with it.

Our last little run just this past week to PI for WSBK.
2500 klms about 30-40% dirt.

Cheers
Matty...

Yeah there is ... but it certainly wasn't me.

The Boss created something when a couple of the OzMo members encouraged her. I think it was just a way to keep track of what people were up to away from the forum.

At some point it became 'secret' because anybody and everybody started joining the group ... and there was no way of knowing who they were (or what they wanted). Perhaps this is the way these things are meant to work ... but it basically killed the idea. It could go 'open' again ... but Ronnie already has a new group underway (albeit just for Sydney).
