Here's one of his later bikes, #3 I think.

You can see a fairly conventional looking header just behind the front wheel.

On his first bike, he basically cut holes in the side of a ~square pipe and bolted it to the side of the head.
Genius in a Dr. Frankenstein sort of way.




First one has a "tuned Exhaust deflector" Grin
