I like more yellow (1098 color) and blue w/ white stripe (old SF color), Ducati wise.
White is over black too, from my POV, but the 1200S already has that.

Yea.  My favorite Monster scheme so far as been the blue & white that was on the S4R.  I *should* have bought the on the local Japanese bike place had.

I voted 1 year.  Ducati nearly ALWAYS has a black model of its sporty bikes available within a year.

That said, I'd just paint the sucker.  There aren't but 3 or 4 parts on the damned thing to get painted anyways.  Plus, you could always add tank decals which aren't or won't ever be factory stock.

Besides, the black will likely distract from the viewer from the bulbous-ness that is the gas tank.

A used one might come up. A change of mind bike with low miles. Snap it up and paint it black. I had a multi-coloured YZF750 once. vomit It actually looked great in a gloss black. Plenty of clear for a very "wet" black seems to really help. DP could enlighten.
I would go for the old early 90s decals from the black M900/750's. That would be a nice retro look.

Agreed!   waytogo That would be a great an affordable option. If I can find one used with low miles  (maybe next year) I'll be all over it.
