+1

Kevin Schwantz = proof that knowledge does not equal broadcasting power.  Blandest Color man ever.

Greg White = failed WWE announcer does racing.  TERRIBLE and who the make the beast with two backs decided that voice passed muster?  That boy has a voice for newspapers not broadcasting.

+1 trillion, I couldn't have said it better myself.

if you guys want to watch the whole race interruption/commercial free, you should really get a motogp.com subscription.

you probably saw as much of the race as you would've on speed.

Ya...I know.  I am resigned to commercials...it's all the other shit that takes up even more time that pisses me off.

So how fast a connection do you need for the MotoGP sub?  I have the fastest DSL available from Qwest, but I live in a slow part of town...meaning I signed up for the fastest but it's impossible for them to actually get it to me (I'd pregnant dog but I got a special deal, so the price is actually OK).  Roll Eyes Is a med. speed DSL sufficient?

well, at least the racer I don't really care for had a crap day.  I cheered when that happened!

but yes, some of my favorites from today...

"side by side"

"if you don't finish, you don't get points"

"the riders wear suits made of leather"

"Mark O. Melandri"

"Randy Dee-Poo-Nay"

2 more races...well, at least if i throw the remote through the tv, sqweak will be able to talk me into a new tv.  Wink

all in all, it's better than the last two years.

i think that's the problem. you guys are comparing them to moody/ryder or harris/roberts. you could've been stuck with shaheen/spencer!  Grin

agreed.  it is much better than the last two years.

but come on, at least learn how to pronounced the riders names correctly.

Given his experience, Schwantz should be the dude down in the pits doing interviews.  He'll know what to ask folks.  He did some of that this go-round.  That's all he should be doing, though. Tongue

As for the commentators, well, it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all to cut 'em altogether and just get a better feed of the bikes' sounds. popcorn

When will the local networks figure out that MotoGP isn't a 3 hour long Nascrap or baseball/football event? Show the friggin' race, and enough with the fluff!!!!

that situation is about to get a lot worse...

That maybe, but when he does speak, his commentary is true insight into the world of bike racing and what the riders are doing and thinking. imo.

how so?

he's referring to DMG taking over "ama pro racing" and packaging it for the masses.

You forgot about... Sil-VANE  gin-TOE-LEE... and man he loves calling rossi by his nickname Vale.  The commentary was gut wrenching, but had me laughing a lot.

There is talk of Spies racing Moto GP as well as his normal AMA race.

There is talk of Spies being out there next weekend.

what, commentating?  or riding?

he's for sure riding the gsv.

..or else that whole posting was facetious.
