So I went and did the emission removal kit with the breather/ rectifier flip. Question is, has anyone left the rectifier in the up position as apossed to lying it unside down? They say with it flipped, that it will get more air flow. True, but it also exposes it to elements. Does anyone see this as a problem or am I just anal? I guess I will leave it upside down unless some one can convince me to flip it right side up.

I just flipped it.  Take notice of where the rectifier/regulator is placed on other bikes. Some manufactures place the thing right in the crap stream.

From all the info I've been able to gather, in most cases...heat will be the rectifier/regulator's main enemy.

Do you need a kit of some kind to flip the rectifier/regulator? Or can you just turn it over?

Did the same mods to my bike last summer.  When doing a tail chop last week I looked at the rectifier - I was surprised by how clean it was.  I figured it would be covered in crap but it was fine.
