I have a 2000 M750 with the single side front brake. I was wondering what brakes from other ducati's would bolt up with out any major mods. Not looking to spend a alot an would like to find a good used option.

yes... and no.

If you want dual discs you'd need:
(maybe) different front wheel
New brake line
New/different brake master. 
2nd caliper
2nd rotor.

You'g gain more stopping power, but you'd pick up unsprung weight - so there is some trade made there.

The 1 vs 2 rotor debates a long one.  But for the same money, maybe less of adding a 2nd disc, you could convert to top notch single disc, different pads and possibly even a radial master and pick up a lot in braking w/o the cost of the extra pounds.

Hey flyn750,

You asked if the calipers I was selling would fit your 750, and I'm sorry I didn't give you a good explanation (I just said "Nope"):

They "might" fit depending on your caliper bolt spacing w/ 300mm rotors.  The reason I said "Nope" is that the dual 2-piston calipers are probably not much better than your 1 4-piston caliper w/ 320mm rotor.

If I remember correctly, you "might" not need to get a different wheel to do a dual rotor set up.  You just have to remove the plastic cap covering the screws on the side without the rotor.  No FHE though, I just remember reading that a couple years ago on TOB.

Thanks for the advice, do you guys have suggestions on a good street rotor and pads. Might do some occasional track but nothing crazy..

The afore mentioned Ferdo Platinum pads are pretty popular - I've not FHE though.

BrakeTech makes some top notch rotors.  Braking, if you're looking for a wave rotor...

My experience with EBC Pro-Lite rotors and their HH pads has been very good.  You might even consider spending the bucks and getting a full floating rotor.  Personally, I think you'd do better by converting to dual rotors, but I'm not going to argue pros and cons about it.

I've used the Ferodo Platinum pads the last 2 changes I've made and they do make a difference. When I posed the same question a couple of years ago on TOB the vast majority of replies were to upgrade the pads (Platinums), rotor (BrakeTech ductile iron rotor) and the brake line (braided). For the type of riding I do, the pads have worked out fine and the rotor may be in the cards at the end of the year. Talk to Chris @ Ca-Cycleworks.com. He's a stand up guy and will give his honest opinion of your options.

I can tell you right now going from stock pads to the ferodo platinums scared the hell out of me the first time I grabbed a handful of brakes and locked up the front wheel. To me it was THAT big of a difference and I got the single disc like you. Going to a braided SS brake line helped out a lot too I think, but I had that on well before the pad swap. I got no FHE with radial pumps, but these guys know what they're talking about, I'd trust them.

If you're not doing a butt load of trackdays where the brakes take a lot of heat abuse, then single disc is plenty for street riding. I did 2 trackdays on the old pads and 1 on the new ones and I was able to brake later and deeper than I ever was before. I'm on the Ferodo bandwagon.
