 exacerbated by the Shaft heaving and dropping under the slightest Throttle changes.  I loved the Motor but hated the Shaft.  And Shafts are not nearly as reliable as BMW Fan Boys would let you believe.  It is more a question of out-of-sight, out-of-mind.

Modern shafts don't jack like that anymore.

I've put 100k+ miles on BMW and Guzzi shaft bikes without ever needing a single repair on either.

I hate chains... To each his own though.
