Alpinestars ACR Air-Flo Mesh Jacket - $70

http://www.newenough.com/browse/view_product_images/69

I hate the velcro straps on the arms, but for $70, maybe I'd consider removing them.

Yet another New Enough post (maybe we should just pipe an RSS feed from NE into this thread?  Grin ), but we just got this Cortech/TourMaster leather jacket for our 14 year old daughter for $49:

http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/bargain_basement/cortech_by_tour_master/ladies_lnx_leather_motorcycle_jackets.html

She was initially resistant to the idea of us buying her a jacket so that she could ride pillion with us -- UNLESS she got to pick it out. I noted that she'd need to do a whole lot more babysitting if she wanted something we'd think was protective enough at full price. I finally got her to at least look at the pictures of this one and as we were scanning through the photos (which start with the $30 more expensive blue & white ones) she was making the kind of disdainful noises only a teenager can generate. But as soon as we hit the leopard print, she was sold. The jacket arrived and is as nicely done as you'd imagine from Cortech, so she's happy & we're happy.  waytogo I recommend it a bunch, especially if you're in the same spot as us.

There are also a fair number of leather plain looking leather jackets on closeout. Sadly my size always disappears very quickly.  Roll Eyes

KBC Tarmac Radiation helmet for sale at Motorcycle Superstore for $59.99 (MSRP $150, most other "on sale" prices are $99):  http://www.Motorcycle-Superstore.com/1/1/38/12197/ITEM/KBC-Tarmac-Radiation-Helmet.aspx

Free shipping if you buy more than $75 worth of stuff.

I loved the style, and it got a good review at Web Bike World, so I bought it.  They also have a good deal on a Sparx Corsa in Ducati Red for $69.

So, the KBC Tarmac is not a good helmet.  It fits great, but the visor does not fit flush with the bottom of the helmet, so wind leaks in and makes your eyes water.

Not worth your $50. Smiley

you could get some rubber adhesive tape and fold it over, making an air seal along the bottom of the visor. Perhaps it's salvageable.

As filter's wife, I'd have to veto that idea. Wink

New Enough has Cortech Impulse 2 pref leather jackets for $119, in red, blue, and silver... plenty of sizes still available.

http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/bargain_basement/cortech_by_tour_master/impulse_ii_leather_motorcycle_jacket.html

I've seen a picture of the new Impulse (3?) and it's a tad flashy for my taste.
