My friends complain that my bike stinks and it smells way to rich and that their eyes burn after following me for a while.  They say it certainly isn't lean and they have been riding a long time and seem to know what they are talking about.  I'm getting my new exhaust in the mail any day, so this should be a plus once I add the exhaust if I have been reading right, correct? It seems that issues generally lie with them needing more fuel once getting the exhaust on.  Mine is a 2007 S2R800 and my exhaust is Arrow full with carbon cans.

You are correct.  Generally they come from the factory lean.

Same shift, different gear.

Mine was setup rich down low in the RPM, then lean in the mid-range, then a bit rich at high RPM's.

a PC3 fixed it all up.

Correct you can't, but you can get a Rapid Bike with O2 emulator and tune away just like a PC.

Weren't some people having problems with the rapid bikes emulators?

This is not necessarily true.  Some '07 S2R800s can use a PC and some can't.  The way to tell is to simply look and see if your bike came equiped from the factory with O2 sensors (lamda probes).  The '07 S2R800 that I just sold did not have them, and could use a Power Commander just fine.

Where do I look for them??

Just trace the exhaust system from the header back, you can't miss them.  There will be a probe with a wire coming from it there if you have them.

Just realized that you might be up in Canada?  Not sure if the Canadian spec bikes are different from the US ones, but I know of four other 07 '800 riders who do not have O2 sensors on their bikes.  Most of the European spec bikes do seem to have them though...

That's very interesting.  I just checked mine and it does not have a sensor.  It has a raised nipped with a hole in it that looks like it would accept a sensor but no sensor.  This nipple is about 4-5 inches ahead of the udder, towards the front of the bike on the right hand side.  My arrow full system is in transit.  Will this be an issue?  The exhaust may have come with a hole as well, but not be plugged like the factory one.

And there you have it, same as my old one.  So with that in mind, you can get the PCIII and use any of the stock maps that work for an '06 S2R800, or use it for your own dyno tuned map.

Wow.  Great heads up.  Thanks!

Ummmm....Thanks for costing me MORE MONEY!!!!  The mod wheels just keep turning!  waytogo LOL!  Seriously, thanks for pointing that out.  If my exhaust system runs fine without it, do I still need it or will it add more horsepower too?

No worries mate.  Your bike might run ok without one, but as pointed out, it will run much better when properly tuned with one.  Can't really say whether it will add any more total power, but it will make what power you have much smoother and easier to use.  Should also even out your A/F mixture as long as it is mapped right.

One more thing, just to be certain, did you check the headers coming from both cylinders on your bike?

Hmmm...

All I have is the short pipe from the front of the motor to the mid of the motor, and then another two piece section thats come back off the motor to the udder, then the cans coming off the udder.  Is there something I missed?

Nope, just wanted to make sure you looked over the pipes coming from both cylinders.  Started to second guess the clarity of my earlier post and wanted to make sure you looked at both before dropping the coin on something that you might have had problems with.
