Hi Everyone, I've been wanting to buy a Monster for some time and finally have an opportunity.

Name: Matt
Bike(s): Currently 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, looking to buy 2002 Monster M750Sie
How long you've been riding: About 2 years

Actually I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the purchase. It's on Craigslist, but seems pretty legit.

The money seems about right, the guy will not come off the price at all, does this sound good to you guys?

Thanks for providing this forum!

A very clean injected 750, I saw that. I think the price is appropriate for model & condition. At those miles I'd ask if the rotors or clutch have been replaced. Depending on the rider, they could be close to worn out and a lot of $$ to invest.

It at NPR Ducati, a reputable shop. I'd buy it. It would be hard to find another M750 in this condition at that price. Many are around $2000-2500 but not original & very beat up.

Also ask when the belts and valves were last done.  Not a dealbreaker, but if the belts are 2+ years old, you'll need to replace them.  Value alignment is more expensive and at 24k might be coming up (if original owner stuck to recommended schedule).  If he hasn't done them you can use belts/valves are a negotiating tactic to get him down to $2500 or less.

But yeah, nice bike.  I've always liked the Senna color scheme and those Sil Moto pipes work nicely with it.   waytogo

Just wanted to post a quick update here: I went out to test drive it and had a blast, but unfortunately the speedometer doesn't work. The owner is looking into a workable solution, but I think replacing it may be too costly for this bike. I was thinking I would just offer somewhere in the low $2000's and fix it later on. Anyone have any suggestions?

Should be an easy fix if ya can verify the miles. Love the Senna colors.

Does it have adjustable forks ? Huge plus if so.  -you can tell by the top of the forks.  The adj oneshave tops that project up w a little adjusent screw, non-adjustable ones are flatter on top.

It prob didn't come w adjustable fork legs but it may have been upgraded.

Sounds good, yeah I love this bike too- trying to work with owner to make it happen. I'm checking with him on the miles and will ask about the fork as well. I've got another thread started on this here: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=70047.0 Appreciate the help!
