I read that the Ducatis have evolved and only respond to Stoners DNA, which is why no one else can ride it with any skill.
It's a symbiotic relationship.

Melandri's bike has the same engine, but the polarity is reversed so that they keep rest of the field in a Desmo tractor beam 8)
