That had to be pretty cool.
Pretty damn epic.
I couldn't get a decent pic of the guy as he never slowed down.

I'm still clueless, but now I can get myself into even more trouble. I took this in November, and it was so helpful, that when another one came up at Gambino Kustom's, I went to that too.
I'm lucky I live close to these things-last couple of classes some guys had come from Arizona, Utah, and Canada.
While at the last class, I saw this up on a shelf and bought it for my daughter:

Cleaned it up:
Last night I ordered the paint for it, and in the meantime I'm powder coating all the bits that make it actually move.
I should finish the powder coating tomorrow night. Then when my supplies show up I can see what I can do with it. What could go wrong?

Those old pedal cars command a good price when redone.

Epic working with Gene, I haven't seen him in years, good on you for taking the time to work with him. Great guys, generational guys like him and Barris are a disappearing breed.
Both legendary in their craft.

I'd say more like good on him for taking the time to work with me. He's a great teacher and happy to share his knowledge. I'm lucky to have made it-Joel put me up, the wife let me go, and there were about ten people there-got to cover a lot.

Big thanks to Nate for continuing to answer my ceaseless barrage of stupid questions. I couldn't do this without his help.

Well...less neat-o.
I clear coated it. That was alright.
Then I buffed it and promptly buffed through the compound in a couple places, and the paint in one of them. Oops.
I sprang into action and asked Nate where I went wrong.
"What compound were you using?"
"Compound?"
Yup. Go on-facepalm with me. To the uninformed, nothing is obvious.
Tonight I re-primed the whole mess so I can redo the next few steps, this time, with compound on the wool pad, and no holes in the clear coat.
Maybe.
