I've done enough body and paint work in my distant past to know quickly that it wasn't my career path.....
Agreed on the drunk part, although I've thought a lot of it might be fume-related.

If Dave has learned anything through this project... it's why painters all drink...sometimes heavily.  Everyone thinks it's easy, it's just a little paint, but there are so many things that can go wrong it's inevitable that something will. I used to work for a guy that liked to say...'It's not the make the beast with two backsup that matters...it's the recovery. On one trip to my place for hands on lessons I showed Dave exactly how something could go wrong, and one method of bailing out. If you didn't see it happen you wouldn't believe it. I figured the recovery was a big part. And I wanted to learn from my mistakes. I didn't really want to make every mistake possible on the same paint job, but here we are. |

Pulled the masking off the dash. I think it looks pretty alright.  Look at that. Dear lord-how did I not see a run that big? Apparently they hide when it's shiny. It goes the whole length of the car. I think it has a zip code.  Nate got harassed about that one, too. Sanded it out. Took forever.  |

Glass! The new wing window seals were labeled L and R. This was apparently if you were facing the car. Not sitting in it. This....caused me no end of issues. It's been installed and removed about eight times at this point.  All those little indents were originally black. I decided I wanted them to match.   |
