Regulator arm. I have access to both sides-no rivet gun. Can I peen 'em over with a hammer and a dolly?
No...you have to do it like this...

Seriously...that's exactly how I'd do it? Tongue

If you can clamp the two pieces together to fit tight before you start hammering, it will help.

Grind off the rivets from the olde shot regulator:

Remove it with a hammer. That's a very important part of car restoration. You need to hit all of the things with hammers.

It's all shaped funny and impossible to grab in a vice so devise a complex method of keeping the regulator arm level, the back of the rivet supported, and whack the holy hell out of it.

Pack it with grease, try it out, discover it doesn't work any better than the old one and order a whole new arm. Question what the make the beast with two backs is wrong with you and why you chose the dumbest make the beast with two backsing hobby.  bang head

Get pissed and move on to simpler things. Door handles and a window crank handle.

Maybe the dome light. That seems simple.

Discover you can't find it.

Too many uninstalled parts just everywhere.

Let's just install them until we find what we need.

Put the visors up.

Discover you can't find the colour matched screws you bought for the visor arms.

Search everywhere.

Find them, put the visors up.

Go to put the rear view mirror in place and spend an hour looking for the screws.

Finally find the screws but can't find the bracket I was holding.

Search for another hour.

Give up and call your asshole brother about getting lunch.

Reach into your pocket for your phone and find the missing bracket.

Leave the shop in disgust.

There we go.

Got the new window arm in.

Wasn't that simpler?

I'm thinking spaghetti for dinner.

Btw...the company that makes the steering column I have......Ididit.....says these pieces are the male and female sides of a connector.

I didn't believe them. I googled it.

Sonofapregnant dog if they don't snap together perfectly.

Why do I have three front bumpers?

Where is the back bumper?

I'm going to invent a time machine just so I can go back and kick my own ass.

Actually, I got my wedding ring, when I wore one, caught between the negative terminal and the body on a positive ground MG.

I stopped wearing a wedding ring that day. Wink

I read of a guy who managed to lose a finger like that.

I don't wear jewelry for just those reasons.
