I....got distracted. Spent the summer fishing with the kids in my wherry. It's really a one person boat, the "seats" the kids sit on are watertight compartments. They just are small enough that they can get away with it. Except the capacity is 350 lbs.....and I weigh....210 and the little one weighs 40......and the big is one is up to 60 plus the gear and..... There is a distinct lack of freeboard.

Fun pics and a sweet little craft you have! Reminds me of when my dad and I would go fishing on our little boats.

Well....I figure they'll be too big come spring to not swamp it. I need a better boat. I have a better boat. Well....boat. It's not worth fixing so, I fixed it anyway.

I ground out the rot, filled the holes and then wrapped it in a layer of fiberglass and epoxy. Sanded that mess....smooth-ish then put an epoxy fairing compound over the whole hull to smooth it out. Body filler is easier to work with. Primed the hull

I hacked apart the broken oarlocks and stuck a piece of fiberglass in there with a bronze oarlock, and then built it all back up. and primed the inside

Did you know rub rail is stupid expensive? Like $140 for the wee little boat that might be worth the same. So I made my own. Look at this beautiful fixture. Scrap wood with a hole in it. Carpet blade. Vise grips. Patent worthy. One garden hose Instant rub rail-just add glue. All done until the seat fabric turns up. I picked up a cheap trailer and replaced the lights, bearings and races. Wheels on the way and I fixed the winch. Soon I can get it out of my shop.

I guess?
Certainly quicker. If only a better quality wood fell on the Falcon, I'd make oars out of it.
