Help Installing Rizoma Retro Mirrors
«
on:

I just go them today. They come with an adapter (??) but not what I was expecting. I expected a bar end adapter that replaced the stock bar end and that the mirror clamped on to. The one that came with is just a larger diameter ring. Do I have to cut my grips apart to mount these? If so, that totally sucks. I know I will butcher that job. #$%*

They are intended to be mounted on the bar, or to proper bar ends like
these
or
these
- not to the little black plastic nubbin.
You can probably find some other cheaper bar end weights at any moto shop - I just know that those mirrors will fit the ones I linked to, and the method used to secure the end to the bar is nice and sturdy. IF you find others, avoid ones that just have a rubber plug that ones smooshes between the end and nut. That method works well enough for just the bar end, but won't deal well with the added stress of the mirror.
Don't cut you grips - you'll not be happy with the results.

Will they not fit on the stock bar ends? I know stock bar ends are much heavier than the Rizomas - supposed to reduce vibration, but I have no idea if that is actually happening.

Which stock bard ends... Some monster don't come with anything more than a plastic nubbin in the end of the bar. IF he's to the actual weights, the mirrors should fit those.

+1 on going aftermarket bar ends....
if you happen to buy the rizoma ends, they'll fit right on. the other plastic rings are to fit on different OD ends.

Don't worry. I won't cut the grips. I want them mounted under the bar and they will look crappy if not mounted right on the end!
