Due to the interest shown on another thread, I wanted to take a head count of anyone who wants to have their exhaust headers ceramic-coated. 

I've called around to four different companies, one located here in Houston and three in the DFW/North Texas area.

Houston area:
PolyDyne Inc. in the Spring-Cypress area.
Coats both the inside and outside of the pipes. 
Turn-around time is about one week. 
Cost was quoted at $137.00, but may be lower with a group discount (will confirm with owner this week). 


Others::
Performance Ceramics. http://www.engineceramics.com/index.html
Coats only the outside of the pipes.  Read their opinion here on why this is so: http://www.engineceramics.com/id_coating.htm
Turn-around time is about 72 hours.
Was quoted $225.00.  This is with the group discount of 20%, and without the tax and return shipping costs included.  This also seems kinda high when compared with the other feedback I've read on their motobike work.

Cradin Industries.
Quoted about $1.25 per inch on the headers.
Turn-around time is 3-5 days.

Enduro Coatings
Coats both inside and outside.
Quoted $75 for work on about 4 feet of headers on a 2-1-2 system.
Turn-around time is about a week.

So let me know who's definitely interested. 
Personally, I'd rather do it locally if I can get PolyDyne to lower their price a bit.  Because after factoring in the shipping costs and the additional downtime for that itself, it would even out with the cheapest quote received IMO.

The above numbers were also based upon a Monster's standard header system (or the aftermarket full systems for it). 
Not too sure about the SBK's or other more intricate plumbing work.

Quotes were also for Satin Black or the Aluminum/Silver/Greyish color.
Not too sure about other colors such as red, gold, green, purple, etc.

So, around $125 for the work if we bring in multiple headers for them to do.

For those who are interested, let me know what would be an ideal time take the parts to them.
I personally prefer to get mine done as soon as possible since I have currently have other parts off my bike.
And my street riding backs off in this hot weather anyway.

well, the 748's down as it is anyways, so I can take that apart now, I've been riding the monster for a bit, but I could pull the header off within the week if need be

My bike's up on stands with some parts taken off for powdercoating.  Was planning to take the headers off while those parts were off at the shop.  Will probably try to do so by the end of this week. 

So... let's say we'll try to have all the headers together by sometime next week for those who are interested?
Should that give everyone sufficient time to have the parts ready?

If anyone wants to move it up or back, let me know.  I'm flexible.

I figured I can then collect all the parts in separate boxes and drive it up to PolyDyne.

Update:

I plan on removing my headers this Saturday, and getting everyone's parts by this Sunday so I can bring them up to PolyDyne on Monday.

The cost was quoted at $137.00 with a group discount of 10%, but state tax will have to be added. 
Couldn't get around the issue of the state tax. 
So final OTD price should be around $135.00 

Payment is due when job is finished and ready for pick-up.

The turn-around time now looks to be from 7 to 14 days due to one of their employees being on vacation.

I'll send a pm to those who have shown interest in this thread.

so what you think, should I take both bikes' headers in?   I'd be down for the trackday, but would need to have the monster's headers back in time

David,

I'd think Polydyne would give you the same discounted price if you decided to take the Monster's headers in to them at some future time.
I can make a note to notify them of such when I bring the SBK's headers up there on Monday.

With the way he was talking, he couldn't guarantee all the headers would be finished by next weekend since they're short on workers.

Maybe David and I could both take ours at a later date?  Instead of making Frank take off of work early to help me out, maybe this is the best solution...
