Bike got quieter after 1st service?

My M821 seemed noticeably quieter immediately after the 600 mile service; though I still feel the need to wear earplugs while riding (I have CF slip on exhaust). Is this post 1st service decibel reduction normal? Now I have almost 2,000 miles on her. And she seems to be running fine. And she still seems PLENTY loud (baffles are removed). So maybe the question is moot. But I'm still curious.

Remember the plugs are good to wear at all times . . .
do you have the "racing kit" or the homologated slip on? could be a placebo effect, all bikes I'ver serviced that have the "racing kit" without baffles are pretty loud, the one with baffles is still loud but, not as much . . .

+1 for the plugs all the time.
The only thing I can think of that would be quieter would be the valves. If they were in need of adjustment, they were probably making some noise. Of course it's different than the exhaust note - but sound is additive so a noisy valve train would add to the over all volume of the bike.
On my 900, the the previous clutch had gotten quite knackered and loud. It made the whole bike a good bit louder. Clutch renovation (new basket, hub and plates) definitely reduced the total amount of noise the bike made

Slide, it is a new M821 . . . In the 10 we have sold and 7 I serviced or installed accesories before or after the 1000kms/600mls service, the noise was the same . . . except for the baffles that all except one customer wanted removed . . .

Okay, I have the racing kit. I'm pretty sure I got that installed (baffles removed immediately), then ran another 200 - 300 miles before the 600 mile service. The next time I rode it, my wife and I independently came to the conclusion that noise was noticeably reduced (she wasn't riding, but said she could no longer easily hear my bike from the bedroom). As I've said, performance seems top notch. And I'm not really complaining about the noise reduction. She still sounds lovely and ferocious to me. My neighbors are maybe less annoyed
