S2R800 SBK conversion question

So I have the 999 Front forks and a pair of 2001 996 calipers and rotors.  When I go to tighten everything up it seems the offset of the rotors are off.  The pads in the calipers basically are not centered and instead are right against the rotor.  I thought the 996 offset would work with this SBK setup?

The goldline calipers and rotors should bolt straight on to the standard set up as it has done on mine, so what's different on your set up?

My first question would be on the 999 forks you have fitted, as far as I knew these are not a direct fit onto the SR yokes, so have you also replaced the yokes too?
Are the pistons fully retracted into the calipers and on what side do they touch the rotors, it may just be a case of running through the fitment sequence to see which bit is causing the issue.
Do your calipers and rotors work with the standard forks?

Made the 999 fork swap myself a few years back.

The caliper offset on the 749/999 forks is 5mm wider than all other ducati SBK forks. Thus, even though your calipers and rotors match, the 999 fork legs are putting you calipers 5mm further from the rotors than they should be.

This is solved with some simple machined spacers, and some longer caliper bolts to be safe.
I had my spacers machined from stainless bar. Outer diameter is the same as the mounting surface, and the inner diameter is the same as the caliper bolt. Simply put, it's a 5mm thick washer. You need four of them, one for each caliper bolt.

The goal is to move your calipers 5mm closer to the rotor to compensate for the difference in the fork legs.

It's perfectly safe, I've been riding with the caliper spacers for 3 years about. Just be sure to get bolts with a proper length so that your calipers are mounted securely. I ordered some nice 316 stainless bolts with a tapered socket head from ProBolt.

Orrr you get 02 748r rotors which are 5 mm more offset

I have 5 mm spacers on mine... ran into the same problem.
