coffee Good day, I am finally introducing myself after skimming around here & there. I'm hoping to learn any & all I can about my bike. I've owned my 94' for a year now. Purchased the bike from the second owner, did a quick calculation on the mileage & figured they rode it a mile every day. So I figured she was mostly garage kept. Unfortunately I don't have a garage, just a carport/workshop space. Plus, I ride her everywhere, I'll even ask the wife if I can follow them to get groceries or lunch Dolph. So,  I've  more then likely put twice as many miles on her. I drive about 100 round trip everyday (commutes to work). First off, if I write something stupid or irrelevant please forgive me I mean no harm. I might not have understood correctly or just don't get it. I most definitely know how to say I was wrong, "Oh grand humility". I started riding an 1994 Yamaha XJ600 SecaII/Diversion <--- that bike has too many names. She was a fixer upper & still is (she's moody from passing through too many hands). I sold her to a friend not long ago & he's putting an R1 front fairing on her. That is a great bike overall built like a tank & handles like a dream (I miss that turn radius-Monster has none  cheeky). I also have another XJ a 97' that will some day get a complete make over, she's in pieces (for the wife, praying). & that was my beginnings, about 5 years ago. I had wanted the 848, don't know why, but I've always loved the feel of a naked bike. & when I was shopping mind  you for a cheap 1,000 buck ride, I found mine with a leaky fiberglass race tank (which I'm having oil gasket fumes now from, gas ate gasket away), No front breaks (leaking fluid line), & electrical probs galore (I WILL NEED HELP WITH THIS STUFF, sorry). Great news is that I've fixed the race tank, bought a stock metal one (on there now), slapped a spare line on the brakes & replaced all pads, and I've been fooling around a bit in the electrical system. Word of Advice: Don't buy cheap parts- I had 4 China made LED integrated turn & brake housings break on me (DOT from USA now, No probs). Well BAM! That's that. A couple of Quick Q's- Does anyone else's bike talk to them before she breaks down or has trouble? If mines feeling sick she won't even let me leave the house, like she doesn't want to be stuck out in the world or have me leave her. Q 2- How the BLEEP do you work the Pictures/Photo Jazz? Mind you I've only been on one other forum. Peace! Have a good Saturday! I'll be riding in the rain sometime today, if I don't get too into tinkering.  coffee

I forgot my MOD's ... coffee Daughter woke up early ... HID Headlight, Integrated Turn Signal Smoke Taillight, Ohlins Shock, K&N Pods, CAWorks Coils, & a Toggle Keyless Ignition (still in the works), eventually I'll put the Non-Leaking <--(Hella Work that one) fiberglass tank back on after some more work & paint. Has anyone tried to put a hydrolic arm on their tank? You know an auto lift. Dolph

Attempting to Post Photos ... These are photos of her right after I bought her. Notice the rag on the leaking brake line.

SNAP, okay ... I'm distraught. I am having trouble figuring out how to post photos. Do they need to be uploaded to this site? Do we just copy & paste the url where we keep them? Bummed I am.

Nice bike.

But what's happened with Ducati Stickers? They are not in the right position. the tank should have been repainted.

The decals are also the wrong 'era' for a '94, as is the color. No silver in '94. The tank has definitely been repainted.

Yeah. A '94 should be red with '84 logo. waytogo

coffee The tank is off of a 2001 M750 I believe. The tank I bought the bike with was a fiberglass race tank that was old & rotting. Had gas leaking here & there, bad news. The title is definitely a 94' haven't cross check the motors VIN yet. I still have the fiberglass tank which fits better, I just need to re run the innards & give a proper breathing tube. The pressure in the tank causes issues & pushes gas out through wherever it can go. It gets hot in Texas summers. Quick Q - Are my throttle cables suppose to be hooked up to the carbs on the left side? Cause that's where they are LOL.  Grin
