Also: maybe we should move this thread to local NYMMC sub-board in order to reach a more germane audience?
I think it should stay on the front page as well. Starting a discussion in the local board also would be fine.

With all the bad press dealers get I think the good press should be as visible as possible.

NY?!  Cool The OP is practically Metro Philly..., and when I lived in NJ for 40+ years..., you had to PAY me bigtime to cross that bridge, and the few times I was forced/paid to work the NY Auto Show at Javits..., I took the ferry right to the door.

Going to school and living in Manhattan for 12 years cured me of NYC.   Wink As for L.I., will only take a helicopter!  Grin

While it IS possible to get to Bear Mountain from rural NJ, avoiding all that cr*p..., at least you don't have to cross that river!  Cool

Still preferred to ride Western NJ and down the Delaware to Bucks County!  Dolph

But CCM is outside NYC.  Anyway, DP makes a good point.  It was merely a suggestion to aim at people near CCM that may be interested.

Also, agree 100% with this:

But let's keep that quiet.  Don't want to clue the clueless about roads like this:

Nice! Lots of that around me now and the BRP is 70 miles west. Suppose you know Rt. 32 then?  Cool The Ducati boys used to head that way for breakfast on Sunday before the cops and tourists came out.

Lived under Allamuchy Mountain which was a nasty commute on I-80 but let anyone asking about NJ to believe it was like the stretch along the Turnpike. Too many people out there already!  Wink

Oh THAT'S the one in Metuchen, duh, but was there another one being talked about in this thread? Let me go back and re-read.

Edit, ok, I was wondering about ECS?

Ahhhh thanks.

Might be an option for Doc, but 150 miles each way for me.

Besides I'm still pretty optimistic about Coopersburg Eurosports.

As one raised in Flushing Queens, I couldn't agree more.
The Hudson River Crossing are nothing short of torture,  the LIE is a long nightmare.
There are some great roads near me in Millstown township. Somerset and Hunterdon counties have some nice roads too.
I may get down to VA in the fall.

CCM is the nearest Dealer for me and easy to get to.
They made a good first impression, lets hope it lasts.
I don't mind paying a higher labour rate as long as the job is done right the first time.
But as some others have noted there might come a time where I will have to learn to do some work myself.

I have to work this weekend  bang head.
The weather looks awesome for riding.

Damn... Jenn's basically working the 3-7th either just mornings (8-2) and backup the rest of the day, or on overnight in-house call one or two days. I'll be lucky if I can sneak out for a free hours here or there, and even if I do I'll have to stay within 20 minutes or so of the house or the hospital in case she gets called in. Sad

It seems that every weekend I am off it is raining and every weekend I have to work it is beautiful. boo
I am just sneaking in an hour or two in the evenings.
Not enough time to get to the real good roads up north.

FYI, it's last minute but CCM is having a demo day tomorrow the 11th and supposedly Sunday the 12th as well, at least according to an email I got from them earlier this week.

here in morris county, the riding isn't too bad, but get's better the further north or west one heads.  the trip up to ECS is worth it for the ride alone  Evil

Thanks.
I got that Email too.
Going to demo days is dangerous, its like giving an addict "just a little taste".
I will be in danger of buying another bike.
