Hey Everyone!

I'm new here to the thread, so I guess I should introduce myself.

I'm a graduate student in Tucson, Arizona. Yes... it's hot here. Really flippin' hot. But motorcycle season is like... 10 months long. So, that's great. The roads are garbage, but it keeps you alert?

I ride a 1999 Ducati Monster M750. This is my first bike and I've been having a blast. Unfortunately about a year ago I lost spark in one of the cylinders. I did basic diagnostics then: swapped coils, wires, replaced plugs... etc... All to no avail. I deduced that it was likely the ignition pickup coil, a common problem with this bike. However that involves tearing the case open... and hence it sat.

I've finally found a place I feel comfortable tearing it apart---sheltered from the wind, rain, dirt, etc...

So, now the project begins. I decided to strip the bike down, clean everything, replace any parts needing replacing and some that can be replaced since I've got the thing torn down. It's going to be an exciting learning experience and hopefully I'll be back on the road by fall---so probably by winter?

Undoubtedly, I'll be here frequently throughout the process. Then, once it's all said and done, I'll hopefully be able to contribute the two cents I earned in the process.

I look forward to the adventure!
