Hello all,

Any recommendations for a waterproof, loop record, inexpensive dash cam for the rear off the Ducati... Thanks!

Inexpensive?? One mans blah blah blah

I have been looking at an Innov C3 has remote camera and loop recording, its also discreet unlike a GoPro TV box stuck on your helmet

Or have a trawl through this site some good reviews on motorcycle specific cams https://forum.dashcamtalk.com/threads/review-bullethd-biker-riding-camcorder-1080p-wi-fi-water-resistant-motorcycle-dashcam.12799/

Short answer ; There’s no such thing.

Stay away from Innov C3 until the product is properly developed, unless you are willing to spend a lot of time for trouble shooting.
I already wrote in here why I decided NOT to buy Innov C3 (which I was thinking to get at first).
http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=70891.0

A) The bullet camera (lens) part is too big. If you mount the lens for optimum performance, people will notice that you have a camera on your bike.
It's not as discreet as I first thought.

B) HDMI cable (which connects the lens portion and the recording unit) is quite thick (read not really flexible), and not really long enough, which seriously limits your mounting options.

C) USB to mini USB cable that comes with the C3 is proprietary. (meaning, it’s not standard cable. You can not plug your regular USB cable into C3 cam. You have to use “Innovv USB” cable, and if you loose / damage the cable, you will have to buy one from Innovv, which will be, no doubt, major PITB. )

D) Some people reported about the loose connection of the cable to the camera. What it means is that you go over a bump, them, your dashcam system can stop working. Again, this is a major problem for dashcam. (You don’t want the system that you have to check if it’s still working every time you go over the gap on the road.

E) Way too many people (by my standard) reported that the computer does not recognize the C3. I wanted something that works right out of the box.

D) Lack of support from the manufacture

There are more issues. Way too many.

Recorder unit heats up a lot while recording, then it  shuts down. (C3 lens portion is waterproof, but the recorder unit is not. So, if you put the recorder into a small water proof case, most probably you will have this problem.)

In cold weather, it has shutting down problem also.

The latest trend is that the unit starts recording when ignition key is turned on, then stops recording when engine starts.

(Apparently, it goes like this ...
- ignition on
- innovv starts recording
- start engine
- very small dip in power
- innovv shuts down (the unit thinks the power was turned off)
innovv doesn't start back up when receiving good voltage

Of course, yours might work perfectly right out of the box, IF you get lucky.

To me, proprietary USB cable and loose connector are deal breakers, as well as way too many issues reported on ADVrider forum.
