Didn't mention it before but damn... I really wanted him to win this one and get the itch to race again.  But seeing what happened to Spies after a broken shoulder makes me really think he's out for good now.

Sucks that it had to happen due to a problem with the bike

Different issue - rotator cuff (Spies) vs Scapula (Stoner and pretty much every other moto racer). Sucks for sure though. I didn't think he'd ever come back anyway, but this seals the deal.

Ah, good to know that it's not the same kind of damage.  Reading those articles articles about the issues Spies had over this recovery made me think that just general shoulder damage like that could cause the same issues.
