There are some good deals with HM1100s. Mine came with Sargent seat, DP 2 into 1 Termignoni full system, DP ECU and extra carbon, tail tidy, carbon mirrors with integrated turn signals, crash knobs, etc. You also get the last of the air cooled big bores and dry clutch, even on the Evo motors (unlike the Evo Monsters). I have seen dyno charts of over 100hp and 80 ft/lbs with intake mods and oem exhausts. Check out WASP and Intake Express websites in Australia.

Have you blasphemed yet?   ;D

Ha. Not just yet. Just a few factors prohibiting a leap of faith though. Wife, money, and depreciation.

The wife is starting a new job next month where she may be doing a lot of traveling and hauling (she's a Horse Vet Tech), which may require a change in her car. That's TBD though.

Depreciation is the next factor. I've called around various dealers who do consignment, trade, or outright buy bikes here in Houston. Most of them are quoting in the $8-9k range if I wanted to get out of the bike immediately. I have roughly 2300 miles on the bike now. Also, somehow the dealers where shocked by how much mileage is on the bike. I didn't buy it to stare at it. Anyways... In simple math that's almost losing a dollar a mile in depreciation in these first 5 months of ownership. I know it'll level out at some point and I'll feel less emotion about losing that much $$$. I just don't see the need to throw several thousand away just yet. BUT there's chance for some sort of change. There are quite a few F800GS's up for sale around here in the $8k range. That would be a bike that I'm planning on adding to the stable in a year anyways. Why not go that direction now, then next year go HM once my depreciation on the M821 cools down and I don't feel so guilty about taking a loss so soon?

There's also a couple used HM's 2010-2013 in the $8k range here too. I think two Ducati's would be a tougher sell to the wife than just adding the F800GS since it has a different purpose all together.

Luck (financial) may change with her potential new job too, which may change everything.

Bottom line. I don't know what to do yet.
