Interesting.,..

so they run their own track days?

Yes, to my knowledge.

The track is family owned (and that's as much as I know about who's who there) but one of the family members runs the riders meeting, track employees handle pit out, corner working (+ some volunteers as of this year to help with that) crash truck etc.

Track day orgs rent the day, sell spots and show up much like I was looking at doing (and still am, maybe next year)

Very different at NHMS.

They provide the track and the ambulances. The track day organizers are responsible for everything else.

If food is provided it has to come from the restaurant at the track.

Corner working is a pretty good time, as long as the weather doesn't suck.

If you really want to have fun, volunteer to corner work with your local race club. They're usually glad to have the help (at least ours always is), and then you get to see the really fast guys. Best seat in the house to watch racing.  waytogo

How does one go about finding their local race club?

Google CCS or WERA.

One or both is likely active in your area.

This also looks like a promising link. I'm not sure what tracks/clubs are close to you.
