I wonder what those guys who cut the aft end of the backbone off are doing.
My XV920R (TR-1) felt like it had a hinge in the middle when it had the whole frame.

The backbone attaches to the (not very stiff) folded steel bracket on the top of the front cylinder.
It attaches to the rear cylinder with 2 rubber biscuits like what Monsters use for attaching the footpeg brackets to the frame and engine.
