how will I know if they flashed the o2 out, and loaded an appropropriate map?

You'll know because the check engine light won't come on after you take out the o2 sensors. Zap the flapper too while you're at it

polivo... tell your chosen reflash centre what you want.

Be specific.

Define your hardware.... exhaust set-up, any intake mods... that you want closed loop to be gone (eliminating your stock 02 inputs)....

Likely, whomever you select (if they're any good) will have an 'off the peg' reflash which is a.... close enough match for your requirements....

But the deal is:  They're not gonna magic it for you.  For best results YOU have to stipulate exactly what you WANT from this customised ECU re-write  [thumbsup]
Thanks ung. So it sounds like it can be done.. I just need tp pic the right place.. specify exactly what I want.. and verify they have a map that can achieve that goal.

It's tailor made and you're holding the tape measure.
Thanks gents.. waiting till it gets a little colder, January 1.. in the mail.

With the O2 sensors out of the way, that rpm range can be mapped correctly for smoothness and response.
The O2 Optimizers that come with a PCV also smooth that rev range but not with the same accuracy as a dyno derived map.

I wouldn't know, the minute I flashed the ecu I installed a PC-V and an autotune. Runs great that way

Same here. Somewhat pricey but well worth it. in fact, probably the best money I've ever spent on a bike aftermarket item.

On a somewhat related note, while at the AIM expo, I asked about a PCV for the 1200R and they told me that they would need a volunteer bike to verify the installation and operation. Possibility it might take a couple of days to do, but the unit and labor would be free. They are located in Las Vegas. I've got an R on order but Vegas is too far from me for it to be worthwhile. Definitely a good deal for someone living in that area.
