Chris was the victim of a violent crime on Thursday night, and he could really use our support. A Go Fund Me site has been set up by his wife to assist with medical bills.

My sweet husband withstood a violent attack over 500 miles away from home just for him to wake up after flight to ICU on a vent with multiple  facial fractures and in need of a  total facial reconstruction. This violent crime has devastated our entire family.  He is in for a long road with surgeries and recovery with family and friends at his side! But we already know  that even with insurance , he will rack over $500,000 in medical bills. I am a proud wife/woman but please reach in to your prayers and help if you can. Thank you so much for your ear for my hubby's healing.

Chris is very involved on a Yamaha forum, and this was posted on there earlier today.  I'll watch for updates and pass them along.

This is Mike Anaya Chris's son in law. He was able to write down his log in info for me to keep you guys up to date. He will be going back for surgery anytime now to start correcting everything that is broken which is a lot. The surgeons are optimistic that they can fix everything in only one surgery. This will be a very invasive surgery as they will be removing his face to correct all the damage. He will remain in the hospital for several days after the surgery and there is a chance he could get transported back to Dallas by the weekend. I will be leaving for a work function in Las Vegas for the week but I will do my best to keep everyone up to date on this. The outpouring of love and support for Chris has really helped to keep the family spirits up and his wife Tina definitely appreciates it. Thank you all for the support we will keep yall up to date.

Here is an update from Chris' son-in-law last night

Sorry for the late post guys but here's what we have for the day. He is in an extreme amount of pain today from the surgery which has elevated his blood pressure. They ran some tests on his breathing and he seems to be breathing over the ventilator which is a very good thing. We are hoping they can take that out in the next day or so. Not a lot of change for him today just needs to get a lot of rest and recover from the surgery. They are hoping to get him out of ICU and down to a regular room by Thursday or Friday. When his son Shane shared his story on one of the Facebook pages call DFW scanner the local media around here has grabbed a hold of it and wants to run a story and share his GoFundMe account. I fly to Vegas for the SEMA Show first thing in the morning and will be gone all week but I will do my best to keep you updated in between the events out there. Mike

Latest update:

"After six long nights, the vent was removed and he will stay on a mask now for oxygen. He will also stay on a feeding tube & multiple IVs. They are working on the amount of pain dad is in from the facial plates. Especially the left eye area if the swelling doesn't go down they will have to lance his eye. Surgical team concerned about his chest cause dad is starting to utter his first words saying "pain" pointing to face & chest. XRAYs are to come to make sure there isn't a sternum or rib fracture. Hoping to start clear liquids & aiming for Friday to be discharged from ICU to the Med Surge floor. Power of Prayer is amazing! As you can see here how hard my dad is fighting & pushing thru the pain to get himself back with just hearing a simple "Hi Papa Chris" from his grandkids.
