Hey guys, the name is Dale. I'm in Panama City Beach, Florida. I'm on my second Ducati, and about to have my third... First being a 2011 Ducati 1198.
The current one:

My current with my old bike:

How it currently sits:

so, I got rear ended recently, my monster is now done for. Also, not complaining, for only have broken my right thumb in the ordeal, could've been much worse. I was making a right turn to get gas before work, and a lady from Michigan in a rental plowed into me, didn't even hit the brakes. She had to have at least been going 45, as I was stopping. The make the beast with two backsed up part was I  watched the car hit me. I checked my mirror before the turn, and she was far back, one second later, I check after I initiated the turn, and that's the moment the car was already hitting me. I flew into the air, got disoriented, and came to my senses sliding against the asphault face down. I hit the curb, popped up, looked over, and saw my bike sliding, and she hadn't stopped yet. Her excuse was that she didn't know it was a turn lane, but regardless of knowing it was a dedicated turn lane or not, she would've seen me turning. I'm sure the phone was in her hand when it went down, but i'm not sure if the officers checked. She only got charged with negligent driving.

Hello Dale,

Sorry that snow bird hit you I am glad the injuries to you were minor for getting rear ended like that. I also live in Florida, down by Fort Myers. Once October rolls around every year all my riding buddies and I are very concerned about the Senior Citizens from up north that come to Florida for the winter. Following the news around SWFL they are killing bikers left and right. Is a shame the DMV doesn't have more strict testing for this group of  blind, senile drivers. But I guess they bring lots of money to the State so who cares if a couple dozen bikers get killed or injured every year by them. Hope you are back in two wheels soon.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.
