Hello.  New Ducati owner here.  I'm not really into shattering speed limits but I do like curvy highways and causing at least little ruckus around town.  I live around Eugene, Oregon.

I have 3 bikes.

1)  2001 M900Sie.  I bought it used with about 15k miles on it.  It's seen some very gentle use and appears to have spent its life in a garage.  I'm not a fan of the yellow but the paint is so perfect that I am really reluctant to change it.  It is completely stock except for some little sliders that someone welded onto the swingarm.  It's in really good shape except that it runs a tiny bit rough below about 2500 RPM... maybe that's a Ducati thing?  It does need a new clutch.  I have a Barnett clutch on order.  I'm also going to do the sidestand diode mod.  I might swap sprockets... I think it's geared a bit high?  I'll see how I feel when I get the new clutch installed.

2)  2001 Aprilia Futura.  This is a cool bike.  This was Aprilia's version of the ST4 and it is a total blast to ride.  The Futura had a tragically short production run but it has the 990 cc V-twin that was used in the Mille and Tuono bikes so it's actually not that hard to find parts.  It was a complete basket case when I bought it but I resurrected it and I'm quite proud of that.  This bike's weird feature is its vacuum-assisted slipper clutch.  If I had to have one bike, it would be this.  It's very comfortable and stable but the hooligan factor of the motor is quite high.

3)  1985 BMW R80.  This is the first bike that I bought and is a project-ish bike.  I was going to sell it but then I redid the suspension and I kind of fell back in love with it.  Currently, it runs ok but it's due for a carb rebuild and the crankcase breather/drain needs some attention.  There's a 1-drop-a-week oil leak which I've got to track down.  I can't really fault it... the bike has something like 92,000 miles on it.  A few years ago I rode it to San Francisco and back.  It's a fine touring bike although wringing it out to 100 mph (to pass on I-5, of course) feels like abusing it.

I guess I like european twins.

I also had a 2005 Kawasaki 636.  It's the only bike I've had that didn't need anything ever other than routine maintenance.  Wonderful bike.  The high-RPM inline 4 thing was rewarding for a while but I decided it was a bit much for the street.

So, yeah, that's me.  Thanks for the tutorials and all that.

Cheers.   chug

Welcome! chug

I'm guessing those sliders are oem rear stand pick up knobs/bobbins.
