Going on a Bend(er)

Since I'm on vacation next week, I'm thinking about hitting the eastside of the Cascades for a two day ride,
7/23 - 7/24.
What's the name of a good/inexpensive place to stay in Bend?
Anyone got some suggestions for roads to take?
M & G, are you guys free for some dinner on the 23rd?
It's not that often that one of us westsiders makes it over the mountains to see you.

Victoire-
Me and da wife stayed at the converted McMennamins old Catholic school in downtown Bend. It isn't exactly cheap, but it is not bad compared to the going rate in town. And, it's a lot of fun. I think for the price, it's worth it. No AC though.
We've also stayed outside of town at a place called Cricketwood. More expensive, but very romantic (woo-woo) and they allow dogs which was a big deal for us.
I've stayed at the normal places a time or two also - the motel 6's or whatever it is out by Fred Meyer. It's what you can expect.
Have a great trip and have fun. that will be a cool trip. Are you shipping your bike over there UPS?

If by shipping it UPS, you mean riding it? Yes, yes I am.

I'm still here, for what it's worth....
However, I live here, don't rent rooms here. And I don't have any friends so no visitors either..
And I'm in the middle of night shifts, so I can't go for beer...
I can suggest where to get a good beer however.
Deschutes Brewery is my fave, Bend Brewery is also excellent.
And you can go to the Original Pancake house for
