Black Saturday
«
on:

It hit 50C at my place on that terrible day when many in my state lost their lives in forest fires. I live on the outskirts of Melbourne near beautiful forests with great riding roads through mountains and valleys.
Riding the 15 minute trip home from work the air off the road was even hotter, hot enough to melt the glue holding the helmet padding to the shell. I remember my Monster fired right up with no warm up. I normally take the long way home to get the motor nice and hot, but not that day.
The helmet hangs in the shed unused to remember that day.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Yeah. The hot glue got hot enough to melt again. As the hot air blast off the road went through the vents it blew the glue out the rear exhaust vents which dried again once I stopped and was in the shade of the garage. Pretty amazing.
The helmet internals came completely loose from the shell. I left it at that.

Speeddog told me it was getting up toward 50C down his way. Zero humidity. Black Saturday conditions if the wind cranks up.
