There, I said it. I have been riding Ducatis for well over a decade and I'm a big fan of almost everything made in Bologna, old and new. I love this forum, and the people on here have always been helpful and kind. But I just cannot stand that clatter! Go ahead, flame me, gather the pitchforks, call up the Anit-Defamation League. But I want to do a --  Shocked -- DRY TO WET CONVERSION!

Is it possible? I've used the SEARCH FUNCTION, I've even found a befuddled response from the Almighty Ducpainter, but I can't seem to find ANYONE who's done it before.

I have a 2008 S4RS Tricolore that is otherwise completely unmolested, except for an open set of Arrow pipes. And I want it WET.

Can it be done?

yes you can . . . dont have info at hand but it is doable

You're OK in my book. Never understood the need for the clatter. On my 8th and had many wet clutches over 5 decades. Some people have "unique" tastes,  Grin

I love the dry clutch but hate the noise at idle. Easiest clutch to work on and tunable to your taste. Using a Nichols basket, Vee Two billet drum, oem alloy friction plates and Barnett driven plates kept the noise down on my old Monster.

The noise doesn't bother me at all. I kind of like it when an equipment operator turns their head to see what all the racket is about.

thanks guys, it looks as if no one has ever converted a dry clutch to wet in an easy, straightforward way.

or at least, no one will admit it.

One of my customers with an 848 SBK had me convert it from wet to dry.

Part of that was a screw that plugged the oil gallery which supplied the trans input shaft from the left side.
Not sure if your cases have that oil gallery.

Monster OEM dry clutches are as tough as goats knees - only need to be pulled apart now and then to deglaze the plates with a bit of sandpaper if they start to shriek or slip when engaging, or file the outer tangs if they burr up and gear changes become clunky.

Noisy - put on some decent loud pipes and you won't notice any clutch noise :-)
