Does anyone know how I would install the R/R from a '98 996 into a '92 SS?

This is the SS with stock hook-up:

The regulator is on the right of the pic.
According to the wiring diagram, the 2 solid reds go to the battery +, white w/ red trace goes to the charge indicator, small red w/black trace goes to the fuse block
This is the 996 hook-up:

Yellow to yellow
red to red (top wire in your photo)
green to ground
the rubber plug on the wiring harness should get sealed/capped off. you will no longer have a battery light. this rectifier does not use a sensor line for the regulator either.

better get it going trackday is on its way [moto]

Cool, thanks.  waytogo  I'm almost ready, timing is retarded as far as it will go, exhaust is ready for packing; once  that's done I'll synch and adjust the carbs and it should be  set.
