All the Ducati's made the 1290SDR possible!

« on: September 11, 2016, 12:09:11 PM »

I tried to find the original Hawaii - Desmotropic posts on the "other board".  As early as I could get was Feb. 2008  where Mark was trying to set up some of the first big Ducati group rides.  Most of the early posts on that old forum centered around leaving it for this forum.

At that time Teddy was still posting. Ranilo was there lots as were Ben, Tristan & myself.

I was trying to find the very first posts back in 2005-2006.  That was before Teddy coined the name "Desmotropic".  I think Teddy & I were the first two that joined up and went on a round island ride.  Ranilo came in right after that along with a couple other guys who didn't hang around. Not sure when Ben & Tristan got hooked up with us but I think it was right about the time I got the 999 and still had my original Monster.

Mid 2007 for me.  And yes, you still had the HOOLGN back then; long before Frederick bought it from you.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

I think all of the original posts from the old forum were purged when it was sold to the new owners ( VerticalScope ?).  It just has the startup posts from early 2008 and whoever was posting after that. I even found a request from Frederick about opinions of a 916 that he found on Craigslist.  0 replies.   Grin  I think everyone had jumped ship by that time.

From ducatimonster.org?  I remember those posts but I'm not seeing them there.

Some as old as May 2006.

I searched (magnifying glass) "Desmotropic"

April 2006  "Oahu Roll Call" must have been the start of it all for the local riders.

Any idea on when you'll be able to go on a Sunday ride?

Mid 2007 for me.

Relative late comer here, I probably joined in late 2009...

Summer of '08 for me.  Then ditched it for awhile.

Just bought a house on snake.

Snake on the way to Wailua.  There's houses for sale out there?

Poamoho Street.  A group of 5-acre lots I could never afford but the property has some issues.

There's more at the bottom of the hill but stuck in a sweat-box valley.
