I wanted to try and install this kit myself but the manual does not tell you anything on how to get to the airbox, battery, or the ecu. I'm assuming this is all tucked under the gas tank, at least, the filter and battery are because I see those. But I can't figure out how to get it off, I removed all the covers on the tank. Anyone else install their own that can chime in? I'm really hoping I can do more of my own servicing/modifying on this beyond just changing the oil.

Thanks a bunch!

Take a look at page 110 in the Spare Parts catalogue: http://www.ducati.com/en/bikes/service/parts/2008.jhtml?family=parts
Only two bolts: numbers 13 and 18.  [thumbsup]

You can also find pictures related to air filter and ECU from that same catalogue.

I don't see a page 110. The catalog pdf only goes to 101 and the page numbers on the catalog itself go to 88 or so. I took out the bolts before but still couldn't get the tank to move. Hmm....

The bike will need to go to the dealer for FI set up anyway.  You might want to see how much the you will save doing the nut and bolt work yourself

I was referring to the EU version, sorry! (It's page 78 in US version). Pull the tank backwards first.

What exactly does the dealer do to the FI?  Mine was installed when I bought the bike and I noticed it's not very smooth with the initial throttle input.  How do I know it was setup properly?

Thanks,
Tim

You'll want them to check the throttle position and possibly load up a richer map. they did that to mine and it solved the hesitant start up and smoothed it out. $47 spent and changed the bike for the better :D
