I concur, having clipped one back in September '09. It's why I no longer ride after dark or at dusk. My textile jacket and helmet were toast, but did their jobs. Still had a wicked concussion and felt like I took on a rugby team. Had I been smarter and had my gloves on, I wouldn't have the kickass scars on my hands today.

We also have this issue with deer to add to the kangaroos. The introduced species are a real problem in my state.

Yeah, I've eaten and nearly crashed into both species. The deer population has exploded creating an environmental issue. Venison is no longer a posh delicacy here.

Well, they're delicious. That they are, and I wish hunters would kill them all. (I really should get back into deer hunting for revenge.....)

Hitting a Kangaroo would have to seriously suck. I remember seeing some reds while I was over there and that's a big, solid animal to hit. JM

Like deer we have different sized kangaroo species. The deer farm enclosures were destroyed during forest fires so they got out into the wild and got busy. They are thriving in Victorian forests. In Grampians/Garriwerd National Park I woke up to find both Kangaroo Jack and Bambi's Dad at the back porch of our cabin, within a couple of yards of each other, just standing there looking at me. I was dead sober btw.

Yea, same here size wise for Elk and deer. Some of the bull Elk could "F" up a commercial rig easily. Others would be a minor collision for a car but could be a big deal for a bike. I was thinking worst case issues.
