So, what's the reason for the longer service intervals for the 4 valve motors (18000 miles vs 7500 for the Desmodue)? |

Marketing around less expensive servicing I guess. I tried to preorder the new Monster but I was refused on the grounds of being too old and ugly  . "Sir, we have this nice Multistrada 1200 instead".  |

Man, them pegs are low and far forward.
And it's better looking than anything that's come out after the S*R series.
It appears to have a steel tank.
I actually kinda like the lines of the frame.
All of that is pending in-person inspection of the real thing.
It does increase my anticipation for the Moto Show in ~2 weeks (not that my anticipation was very high to begin with...).

Compared to my 821's stock pegs, those look to be about 1" lower and probably 4-6" forward! |

Those wheels look like they are off of an early 80's Yamaha. Too bad as the 796 had beautiful wheels.
