Termignoni or Leo Vince exhaust slipons?
«
on:

I am looking to buy carbon slipons for my 696 and I am undecided between the termignoni and the Leo Vince... Leo Vince slipons seem to sound and look better and they are cheaper. Does anyone know anything about the performance improvement once installed? Has anyone installed the Leo Vince on their 696? How about the termignoni? any preferences or other brands I should look at (I did not like the arrows)?

From what I've heard, quality of the termi's are not what they used to be. They used to be all hand made when they were a smaller company but now they mass produce. Leo vince has always been consistent.
I have termi's from the factory and I love them on mÝ Foggy but they were made in '02...

I have new Termi's (cans and midpipe) on my 06 S2R and have seen no evidence of the quality issues. The fitment was great and sound is amazing. The Termi's on the 696 at the shop look just as good and sound great also. I haven't seen the Leo's, but I can't see them looking or sounding any better. Now price is a different subject.

Not a 696 but I have a S2R800 with a Leo Vince slip on. Having compared it directly to a Termi slip-on kit I am happy I went with the Ti Leo Vince. The LV quality, fit and finish would be hard to beat in my opinion. The termis are louder if that is important to you but I have yet to meet another monster of any kind in my area with a Leo Vince set up. The Leo Vince setup was almost half the price too.

+1 for the LeoVince. Have the Ti slipons on my 620 and love them!

Granted the Leo Vince slip-ons are less money, but what about the value of the Termi system for the 696 with the dedicated ECU from Ducati. IMO the cost is offset by having the bike run properly without having to fiddle with a Power Commander or some such device to avoid a possible lean condition. I've got the full Termis with the ECU on my Tricolore and can't believe how well it runs. Incredibly smooth, plenty of power, great sound, beautiful fit and finish, and absolutely perfect fueling at all rpm. I've got the Leo Vince setup on my Multistrada, and while it's nice and certainly cost less than the DP Termi setup, IMO the sound isn't nearly as nice, and of course I had to do a bit of tuning to get it running right. Just my .02 worth.

I'm also facing this dilemma! But like mxwinky said, the Termi system does come with the ECU and air filter. While the LV system does not, the price is quite attractive!

I'm probably going to go with teh Stainless steel Termi setup. it's under a grand. But if i have issues with registering on military base in europe i may have to go with the titanium if not stock.

I may be wrong (it's happened once or twice before), but I remember reading a thread recently where those who have put the Termi's and ECU on the 696 have had problems with it running lean while those who are running stock exhaust don't seem to be having any problems. The only reason that I would wait for the Termi's is because of the aforementioned problem. Has this been resolved?
Also, I just went to the Leo Vince website, and it didn't list the 696 as a model that they have slipons for...

Did you get your coil checked, Adamm?
I wonder if the coil issue really shows it's ugly head with the termis

LV does not have their slipons available for the 696 on their website, but if you call and ask them they must be already available because I saw them on youtube.com

I have the Leo Vince slipons on my 02 620, Half the price of the termis. They look good sound good (throaty but not excessively loud) and they did not require any remapping of the fuel system. Unless you really have to have termi's (I'm told they are a little louder), the LV is a more cost effective solution, if that matters.

my view on this is that the only way to go is termi, here is why, you get an italian bike and basically i think you should put on what is really teh italian exhaust that seems to "go with" the bike the best.
personally whenever i see a 748 that i want to buy with any exhaust other than termi, in a way it turns me off, for me personally the termi sound is the best sound out of alll the other brands.
can you put on other brands? of course, they are all made very well, but for some reason its just not "right" without a termi system on a ducati. taht is my take on it.
