This turned out well, I think. ST parts fit nicely, S2/S4 are a different animal. For a 695, this requires everything but the rear brake master cyl and line, and the shift arm. ST footpeg brackets, both pedals, shift rod and master cyl mount cost me $80, plus $30 for powder coat. I adapted the 695 pegs, because the ST pegs are big. Weight savings of about five pounds, and the footpegs end up 1 1/4" higher, 1 1/4" farther back, and 1 1/2" closer together. Perfect for me at 5'6" - taller riders might not like it.

It's a lighter, more open look - maybe the heel guards should be black too. The master cyl now points rearward, it's mount bracket bolts to the engine case where the old footpeg bracket was bolted. 695 brake line fits. Brake light wires and connectors the same. There are a couple of different ST shift pedals, this one looks like it's from one of the superbikes, and it's a bit short. - it probably wouldn't suit anyone who wears larger than a size 8 shoe. I may get one of the longer ST ones to try. Muffler stays are 1"x 1/8" aluminum bar. They look a bit thin, but the mufflers are titanium and stainless and are light.
