Whats up guys, I am currently looking at a 2000 M750 with 19,000 miles priced at $2k. Bike has dents on the gas tank and the exhaust is all scratched up (not too concerned bc it only looks cosmetic and I'd be changing it). The bike also has some new stuff like battery, handlebars, etc. Also with dents in gas tank what are some other concerns I should be asking about or worry about? Also in some of the pics it looks like theres possible rust? Is this a fair price? Copied at bottom is link to post with pics and additional info. Thanks for looking and your opinions!

Jimmy

If it hasn't had a complete service recently, I think the price is high.

Belts, a valve adjust, and service will put that price closer to 3K.

Something seems off. I would definitely question rust considering the dent on the right side looks like it's been recently covered with something resembling paint. It's probably hiding rust.

Also, ever notice how it's always a "previous owner" that damaged the bike?  laughingdp

What do you want to have in the bike?

Figure service at a grand, and if you want to really spiff it up the tank needs to be dealt with. You've already said you'll replace the cans. That will set you back ~$500. By the time you're done with that bike you'll be at, or over, $4K. Too much for a 750 IMO.

I'd bet there are better bikes out there. You'd be better off spending more and getting more.

All that said...you're a big boy. What do you want? waytogo

Looks pretty sketch to me. There are wires hanging out everywhere suggesting it's been pretty well molested.

Aftermarket headlight and front turn signals coupled with new bar, new levers (that don't even match), and cluster makes me think it was more than just 'dropped'.

NADA has low retail at $1500. And it's been neglected.

If there's nothing else in your area and/or you have time/skills/tools, it might be worth low retail. Otherwise, I'd keep looking...

View from the back, something's bent, probably the subframe.

The bike's been crashed fairly hard, hence the tank dents, new bars, and janky headlight and front blinkers.

Koso gauge looks like a good one, the wiring job does not look good.

Appears to have a brand new front brake line, unfortunately it looks like the OEM rubber unit.

I'd put it at about $1200 fair market value.

LOL!  These guys have hit all the key points. This poor bike has been used and abused.  Just remember, a wise man once said, "there is no such thing as a cheap Ducati!"  I learned this the hard way with my first Ducati many years ago.

Wow... that thing is hammered $hit.  I don't know if it's worth more as parts vs a rider, in any event, it's not worth $2000.

If you are looking for a money pit, you found it!

There's a member here trying to sell two bikes. His ads aged out, and he isn't very active any longer, but you might email him. He's in Maine, and both bikes are mint. Certainly more money than 2K, but you get what you pay for.

Shoot, for what you're going to put into that 750, how about this bad boy?  Miles a little high but not awful and says belts were just done.
