Who has tried a 48 tooth clutch?

Im over the previously much loved clutch chatter. Got an NGR (did EVR take over them?) 12 tooth basket, TPO springs and keepers, Vee Two billet drum, Corse Dynamics Ti bolts and oem alloy plates on my old M900. It's not too loud compared to many around, but Im over the noise. My former Hyper had a Nichols basket and I have found those baskets to be very quiet due to the tight tolerances.
So, are the EVR 48 tooth baskets by their design, substantially quieter than the 12 tooth baskets you have run?
I dont want to use the friction plate at the base of the stack trick because I am unsure of any long term effects on the bearings from the lateral load.
Your thoughts and opinions appreciated.
Cheers.

From my experience, both quieter and longer lasting.  [thumbsup]

Thanks DS.
Thinking about it, the load is spread over 4x the tabs. I have found the Nichols baskets very quiet with oem alloy plates, but the complete EVR kit at MW currently costs less than just the Nichols basket on its own. Not bad at all.

Pro-Cutting baskets are evidently also tight-tolerance and relatively quiet.

I was faced with the same 12/48 dilemma when I needed a new slipper for my 749s.  Opted for the 12T because I already had the tools + spare plates and probably more folks at the track with 12T in case of emergency.  This was a few years ago.  Have 48T continued to gain popularity?

I guess the popularity of 48 tooth baskets is slowly building, but I've not seen one over here since I dont work on alot of Ducatis. Afaik, only STM and EVR make them. The guys here might see a few.
I really like the workmanship in Nichols products and like you I have plenty of 12 tooth plates to choose from. On the other hand when Motowheels has the full EVR kit at under $300, it's hard to go past.

Seems like you have our permission to go 48 and be sure to report back!    ;D

Looks like I will be testing an EVR48T on a 944 Superlight with open clutch cover. Will let you know.

I’ve got an EVR 48 t slipper (about 1.5 yrs)
I went for the sintered plate variant as opposed to organic plates.
It started to notch the basket ( i know it would to some degree) When i looked into it, some info suggested sintered were steel plates and organic were alloy and quieter and less prone to notching the basket.
Don’t know how true this is?.

Yes, steel plates are very hard on an alloy basket.
Pretty quiet compared to stock?

Hard to say. It seemed quieter when first fitted , but i suppose it’s gradual the noise increase as it starts to notch the basket.
If the info is true, that organic plates are alloy, then with hindsight i would have chosen that option. I wasn’t aware at time of purchase.  [roll]

Just bought a organic plate, EVR slipper 48T for my Monster and just the 48T basket and sintered plates for my 1198 that is already equipped with a slipper clutch, this past black friday sale.  I went all in on the 48 tooth clutch design, I know many people who have this setup and are very happy.
