CF Supports For My CF Windscreen?

Not sure if these are available BUT ......  Since mounting a CF windscreen on my 900S I've noticed it could use some type of support against the winds when the bike speed begins to get up there a bit. I've seen /heard of some CF rods that were used to brace the windscreen on a different bike. It looked [and still seems] like a good way to address the wee bit of flexing and vibration I see happening and create a nice, stable fairing mount.
I contacted that particular Monster owner but he had no idea where they came from.

Before I try and actually make something [God help us], is there something readily available that would remedy this little issue?

Thanks.

I tried a search for support struts but failed. There was a thread on them here. Unobtanium now iirc.

The most usual fairing stays were 'PoorDucRider' - a multi angled piece of flat steel. The other, much cooler, option was a carbon rod between two multi angled rod ends (can't remember the name).

We discussed how a replica could be made, but despite considerable know how couldn't make it happen.

My EZ pass stuffed between the gauges and windscreen  works pretty well.

Pretty sure they're gone.

Talked to senior years ago. He gave the remaining inventory to junior, along with ideas and advice about running and developing a business. (Maybe, if you ask junior it was pressure and nagging  ;D )  I think senior started and still runs Black Dog Cycleworks.

Anyway.... nobody can make a living out of just one specialized Monster product. Remember Monstrack mirrors and backrest/luggage rack? Two brother business - not going anywhere.

Pretty sure Statler has/had a pair of the Matrix fairing stays. Don't remember if he broke one when he crashed at Loudon. :P

Thanks everyone. I searched the interwebs and did see a few companies that are selling CF rods in assorted diameters and lengths. If I can purchase 1 rod, I think I can make the end pieces out of aluminum sheet myself, any suggestions as to how thick/heavy the rod should be?

Thanks!

5 mm  [thumbsup] Or 4 ...

The problem is the odd angles. I'll see if I can find the thread where we discussed a replica..

Thanks stopintime.  Looks like the discussion got only so far and stopped about a year and a half ago.  Not having much machine shop experience or access to 1 [or much of a budget] but having a few hand tools used for casting and fabrication of jewelry related applications?.......well, I'm just bat-shit-stupid enough to try making a set. Like we sometimes say: "They ain't going to Hollywood but there good enough for the girls we go with"

It would seem like the original CF supports were cemented into the anodized end pieces with the socket joints?  Probably be good enough if the end pieces are deep enough and create a big contact area between the cement and rods. 5 mm rod diameter ya say?  Okay then.

If I have any success I'll let you all know and post something.....

Straight rods with heim joints would work, wouldn't they?
