Since they're going to award points for all three races, that wouldn't exactly be sporting, now would it?
The real problem in any series is when the race is for second. Rea needs to move up.
I'm surprised Carmelo can't see this.
I see it slightly differently. They need to start pumping more young talent to WSBK, instead of it becoming the preferred retirement home for old MotoGP guys.

Sykes and Melandri currently have no ride for next year.
If Rea moves up that will be room for 3 young guns.
That way the dominant figure is gone and there's room for new talent. Where that talent comes from remains to be seen.
I still think Rae's dominance is the real problem. The racing is no longer exciting. Even having him start from 9th does little to no good. He's typically riding off into the sunset by the second lap.

I’ve taken to watching the races in fast forward mode they are so boring. When the broadcast is focused on the race for 7th place, that’s not really much of a show. I know these things go in cycles but WSBK has really become a real snoozer.
Gagne seems to be making progress but it seems the CBR isn’t sorted, which is surprising. Hopefully he continues to make his way up the grid. PJ seems to just be a grid filler at this point but I still root for the Americans because I’m such a patriot!!

I obviously wish that Rea would be given a shot at a MotoGP ride. I can only assume that the transition is smoother than from Moto2. Another thing to consider is if he even wants to make a switch. He’s dominating on a manufacturer that’s not on the MotoGP grid. I assume He’s Kawasaki’s golden child and are unlikely to simply let him go.

This is what I’m saying. He doesn’t seem motivated to switch to MotoGP where he will likely lose to Cal, at least at the beginning.

Race 2 cancelled due to weather.
Johnny won't get his chance to own the most wins record, outright, this year.

Moto GP is the next step. Surely Newcastle Brown Ale or some UK brewer can make it happen.

Like Carlos says...maybe he doesn't want to go, at this point in his life.
Only problem in his staying, like Mladin in AMA, is the racing gets stale.
