Author Topic: I've changed my mind - Tail Chop time!!  (Read 3424 times)

G'day All

Well, after looking at my beer tray changing colour (Sun fade?) and trying to decide if I wanted to paint it, or replace it, I have changed my mind on the Tail chop, and that bastard is coming off!

I have an S2R 800 07 and I was wondering if anyone had a couple of pics of the S2r's to have a look at, I'll most likely order a kit from Monster parts (The Comp Werkes model)

I just want to check out a few others first, just to put my mind at ease about the final look and finish.

Thanks everyone.

Take a look at mine via my flickr page below.
It's a Cookie1 version, Melvin also just had a recent chop of his S2R 800.
But it was a custom job from one of the lads here.

The only reason was the plastic beer tray is changing colour, I think the sun is getting to it up here, it used to be black, it's now losing colour like you see on sun faded parts.

Melvin - I looked at your page and of 11 photo's in the tail chop folder I can only see 4?
I wanted to see a photo from the rear as I will be keeping the OEM turn signals, I assume you use an integrated taillight Melvin?

PS: I did say in the Tail chop thread I reserve the right to change my mind  cheeky
PPS: I also reserve the right to change my mind again  cheeky

I was Indecisive once, and now, I'm not sure......  Grin

I can tell you that we both use indicators and a tail light as per stock nothing intergrated.

Already got a copy a little while ago, just in case this came up, and also the Kit I have ordered includes all the destructions and assorted bits and pieces like frame plugs and such.

With the tailchop kits like the Cookie 1 kit and the MW kit, can you still fit the number plate lights (as in the OEM holder) or do you need to have them integrated into the tail light?

I already have a CA LED tail light, I will upgrade it down the track to a super nova, but I'll wait until it dies first.
As I have read that won't be long anyway!  Tongue

EDIT: Went back and looked at the Monsterparts page and answered my own question.

So I don't have to say that yes your OEM indicators and tail light will fit no problem.

You can say it if you like  cheeky

As usual I should have read before I typed....  Embarrassed

I was more looking at the Number plate light that lights up the number plate, which when I inspected the photo's on the MW kit, it has room for it, It would appear the Cookie1 kit does not, I ordered the MW kit anyway as it seems to have more in it such as the frame plugs and the like.

Yeah I think I should have got the Werks version.
It has that to it that the Cookie1 doesn't but I don't really ride much at night.
I'm still going to try to refit my plate light with something fancy in LED.
We'll see in the future.

Good luck with the up coming shop, it's a blast doing it.
The change in how you view your bike is amazing, I am still really pleased that I did mine.

cheers

Just for the sake of another option, heres a photo of mine. Its the no chop alternative thats shorter than the OEM but not as short as chopping the frame.

anyone got side on shots with termis and various tail chops? I am interested to see which chop would suit the length of the termis best...  Evil

looks about inline with a half tail chop?
