Hi all,
First, let me introduce you my bike....Monster 796abs, y.2011. I bought it in 2015 in really mint condition with 12.000km.

The day I bought it

After that, first thing it was, mount back a OEM small wind shield

Because, I changed the oil (Preventive), I also changed the air filter. I go fo K&N and open the air intake housing (its not esthetic, i know, but it functional)

....and like that,  i was ridin around for a year.....

And so, as I was riding for a year, we all know (honesty), that OEM exhaust system it is.....well...it’s not great and Ducati shouldn’t sound like that. I start planning what to do. I want something different, something unique, something custom made.....! Luckily for me, I have a great friend who works at Akrapovič factory. So, we make a plan and he was willing to go for it.

As first, I bought 2 OEM exhaust manifolds as we need it to fixing it to engine

As the bike was at friend’s house....i decide to start a new project.

From crashed Monster, I bought all plastics (and they need it a repair). Specially the front bumper right side was broken (and without a missing piece) it will be a brain damage.

And that plastics were taken to local master....and hoping for the best....

So, the bike was at friend’s house, plastics at master.....I knew, I will have to do something with handlebar. Because it will be a soft transformation and going for a Sport Cafe (not exactly the Cafe Racer) style....i try a clip ons. They were too extreme for me....! But th Friend who is working on a exhaust, it’s also a big Ducati fan and a Ducati rider....he used on one of his ex Monster that solution for handlebar.....it was twist and rotated....the OEM handlebar...

Start de mounting handlebar

The handlebar was taken to powder painted on black....

Handlebar back on bike.....twisted and rotated

For riding is much better as OEM position. It easier for cornering....and have no problem with back....i made 500km one way to WDW this year and was no problem.

Meanwhile, the exhaust progress

What are the pipes without muffler.....

That was one hell important piece for fixing the muffler under the passenger peg...

Fixing the muffler

We use heatwrap and paint it with heat resistant color 600°C, it’s functional and style for all project

Thank you for your post.
About tuning the motor: have to see it in next servis (Desmo servis 24k km) how the sparks looks like (A/F level).
But in plan it’s to tune ecu by Desmo-Racing!

Cheers,
