oh dear!!
where do i start? those on here that know me, and that's really only a few of you i guess, will know, i am EXTREMELY fussy with my bikes, some taunt and rib me but i can't help it. anyway, i have a tank protector but around the edge on the tank my jeans and jacket have rubbed the paint dull, so, as i have done many times before, i gave my paintwork a cut and polish, only problem is there was some grit in my pad and my paintwork now has circular scratches all over it
. to make matters worse, i decided to remove my spine tank protector and when i thought it was almost all off i pulled a section of paintwork off where the pinstripe is
. now, i have used new buff pads and cut and polish, then fine cut, then scratch X repeatedly but it still has marks in it and even though i replaced the torn section of paintwork and cleared over it i'm not happy.
time for a respray then, my bike is a S4R, in blue with a white stripe, the wheels were painted blue a couple of years back and it has the matching blue frame, so the blue has to remain somewhere. My thoughts are to paint it a bright silver with the stripe in the blue, and just to be a bit different, the thin pinstripes either side in red. can i have your opinions before i ship it off next week??
oh, and if you're reading this tool, piss off, i'm not interested how many times I appears, ok?
paul.

Paul, sorry to hear mate. Look on the bright, side it will look a million bucks when its painted up new!
I like the silver(tank/cowl) on blue (frame/wheels) look...Can I suggest
a) White pearl (Tank cowl) with custom stickers/fonts - on the blue
b) Carbon tank & cowl (no need to paint old, thus saved $$ to buy new tank and matching cowl) - on the blue
d) Grey (like gunmetal) tank & cowl - on blue
Good luck choosing. - Chris

spider, i have a couple of pics, but i don't have a pic hosting account.
sydmonster, i don't really want white, i did! but then they released the s4rs and i don't want to copy it, carbon? err, no, not enough folding stuff at the mo unfortunately.
bigfella, i just had some wheels painted by NEWLOOK MOTORCYCLE SPRAYPAINTING and i was happy with the result so i'm getting matt to do it

Love the silver and blue idea. Not so sure about the red pin stripe, hard to picture the blue, i assume its the iradescent like original... Maybe a gold pin stripe? Gold the same as my wheels? Red could look like your a roosters fan.

a roosters fan!!!!? bloody hell!!!
send chip foose an e-mail ? funny you should say that cause i've had the colour combo in my mind for a while and i was watching "overhaulin" last night and they painted a camaro blue with silver stripes and red pins, looked good too!
and yeah, the blue stripe will be in the original blue, it has to to match the frame and wheels.

...dont decide here. Ride down to Hornsby, talk to the lads at Collidescope. They do original repair work for Harley Davidson and Ducati as well as some others. There work is amazing! have a look at their MV! Discuss all the various options with them, you will not be unhappy. They did my "monsterised 996". Kind regards, Aunty Mal

speaking of painting (HIJACK!), do you guys in sydney have someone you recommend for painting rims? I am thinking of changing my white rims to either black or gold.... I know if I go gold there will need to be some other gold accents.
rough price from those who have had it done? flywheels quoted about 600 ride in and out

I think Rusty had his wheels done (is he back yet?), perhaps send him a PM.
Loony, bummer to hear about the damage - some sadistic bastards on here would see it as a blessing. With my taste I won't advise on colours, but I think Pygmy has a silver and blue colour scheme on his baby - might be worth a look if that is what you are considering (but I doubt the colours will be the same).

how much did it cost you to paint your rims?
hey how about painting the body line as a seismograph output (the devices they use to measure earthquakes) getting wider then thinner down the body... hehehe could look cool if done well, don't know if you would do it on a duc though.
