Just a whisker after they're jamming the brakes on.
JLo enters the corner ~10 feet inside of the racing line, pretty well even with Mav (side to side).
Very very high risk strategy, especially at the tightest corner on the track when it's covered with hot greasy Dunlop.
And there's 2 riders ahead of Mav, so the chance of there being an opening to slide into... microscopic.
For him to cleanly and successfully pass Mav, he's got to outbrake him by one bike length *and* a little more so he's going slow enough to make his tighter line.
And it'd be a block pass at that, so not so clean...
Honestly, he's screwed the pooch right there, he needed to be no more than 3 feet inside of Mav to have any hope at all.
Watch Marc pass Dovi, and Rossi pass Danilo, to see how it's done properly.

JLo is still ~ 10 feet inside of Mav, and has gained maybe half a wheel on him.
If Mav sees him, he's preparing to stay on the brakes a wee bit longer to eliminate the overlap and make a cutback.
JLo is having another go at the pooch.

JLo has moved over toward the line, but he's still 6 feet off line and the corner is *right there*.
And he's gained nothing on Mav.
He might possibly fade over and slot in behind Mav, but if Mav's seen him, he's staying on the brakes to make a cutback and there will be no slot.
JLo's at the pooch for the 3rd time.
Oh, also, JLo must be thinking he's gonna outbrake Dovi and Marc, too.
Apparently he did not read the memo about who's the hardest brakers on the grid.

And he's still made no progress on Mav.
Note Rossi and Marc have made substantial progress on their opponents.
The pooch has run off, JLo's plane is on fire and a wing just broke off.

IMO, Dovi's seen Marc, and we all know what Dovi does when Marc lunges up the inside.
Eliminate the overlap and cutback city.

Entering that far inside, no chance.
I can't remember a legitimate P4 to P1 pass. Ever.
Outbraking both Dovi and Marc, not gonna happen.
Just daft.

I'm sure his job is safe through next year, he's gifted the championship to MM.
Honda and Puig have gotten a bearhug on their #1 enemy, and they'll string him along with constant bullshit.
Best money they've spent in ages, and it probably wasn't much.
