It was a tight race, and a shame to see it redflagged.

I don't think that airfence was rated for a 270kg projectile.
Sachsenring isn't super generous on runoff, but that thing put quite a lick on it.
When it started cartwheeling I thought it was gonna jump over.

Race length is tailored to allow them to race full tilt and not run out of juice.

Oh, I get that, that is just a problem.

Considering the quality of the audio mixing on the MotoGP feed lately, that's a totally valid suspicion.

16 lap race with no 'battery throttling' would put bike weight well into loaded bagger kinetic energy weapon territory.

They could do a bike swap at ~halfway, with a minimum swap time limit.
But if they're going to do that, IMO make it a 12 lap race with 30 kg lighter battery pack.

PSA: I will ignore any sentence including "...but real soon new battery tech will make it competitive with gasoline...", or any facsimile thereof.
Honestly, I've heard that shit for 30 years and I know enough Physics and Chemistry to say there's NFWIH.
C4 is not a practical human transport vehicle fuel.
